” See if anything comes of it….”. Okay, let’s face it. I’ve been in the deep end of the blog pool and treading water since day one. And as you’re reading this, my family and I are enjoying winter break, and yet I’m still thinking about what’s next for this site. I am incredibly grateful for this blog. It gives me a creative outlet, it lets me speak with my heroes, it lets me go farther beyond the speech room. Who could ask for anything more?
I’ve been “shooting without a script” since my first post. And I’m beyond proud of what’s come of it. I’ve used my training as a school-based SLP to guide me and started with what I’ve felt I needed shared with the world. From there, I reached out to people who had something to say that would be of value to my students, give me a new perspective, and challenge me. This whole exercise has been way out of my depth.
I’d like to think I’ve learned a lot these last few months, but I know there’s much more to learn. I don’t know what 2018 has in store for me, but that’s for next week’s post to sort out. I’m looking forward to sharing more lesson plans, tales from the speech room, aha moments, and if I’m very fortunate, more interviews.
My challenge to you: take this break and enjoy time with your family. Bonus points if at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time you start belting out RENT. And if you forget, there’s always 10 PM. See if you can do this without setting an alarm.
Keep playing with words and see what your message creates!
